New to this Forum and have secondary Kidney Cancer

Hi everyone  I am new to this forum, I was first diagnosed with kidney cancer 12 years ago, and was lucky that all I need was to have my kidney removed, after 5 years I was given the all clear. Last November  I had a my left thyroid removed and discoveredI that the lump was secondary kidney cancer, a CT scan at the end of December showed I have 3 more tumours, one in my remaining kidney and 2 in my pancreas . As I am fit and well they wanted to leave it 2 months before more tests, I am due to have a CT scan next week, and D day ( decision day) will be on the 3rd March . I am normally a very positive person but struggling at the moment , my emotions are all over the place , can anyone offer any advice on how to cope.. Xx

  • Hello angelp,

A big welcome to our forum! I noticed you hadn't received a reply to your message yet so I thought I would come and say hello which will bump your post back at the top of the pile.

We hope your CT scan goes well next week. Let us know what happens on the 3rd of March or as you call it D Day. Others will be along shortly I am sure to give you some advice or some suggestions on how to cope during this long wait - not knowing what will happen until D Day must be making you even more anxious.

I thought you might be interested in talking to others on this forum who have or have had kidney cancer. So take a moment to have a look at this thread for example or this one and feel free to respond to them if you wish to get in touch with others who have kidney cancer. Sometimes it helps to talk to others who are in a similar situation as you whether they have the same cancer as you or not.

I hope you are feeling a bit better today and we keep our fingers crossed that your CT scan goes well next week.

    Best wishes,
