Hi I am a 55 year old female who was diagnosed with advance kidney cancer with spread in November 2013. Prognosis was not good but having started on pazabanib tumour in kidney and the metasis have shrunk. Having keep reading the forum over the past few months have plucked up the courage to join, not used to talking about my self. I am at the moment been offered an operation to remove the offended kidney having been told that this would not be done therefore feel decisions are having to be made again after just getting used to the original diagnosis. Silly really as I am treating it as good news.
Welcome to this friendly and supportive forum. I am someone who never thought I would join something like this and I have now been a member for over two and a half years. It does take corouge to join especially if you are not used to talking about yourself. If you have been reading the forum for the past few months, you will have no doubt seen there are some wonderful people on here who although struggling themselves, still manage to give support and comfort to others on here. We can all use our own experiance of cancer to do this.

well = Brian is right - this is a wonderfully supportative and helpful forum where you can pour your heart out. It will help you. It took me a while to find my voice - it isn't easy to be frank about what happening. I joined as I expected my wife Annes cancer to be problems all the way. However, the hospital is very good and appart from problems from chemo side effects - she is doing okay. I come on most days as does quite alot of people - so there is always someone to respond to you.
Anyway = I want to wish you all the best and hope the kidney cancer is sorted out for you

You are right that you are celebrating good news - it must give you such hope to know the kidney can be removed, that is wonderfully positive. Many thanks for the reply. I will let you know what will be happening as I go back to western park on the 4th March to see my oncologist and hopefully by then will have had scans and seen the surgeon.

I have Advanced Kidney Cancer although the growths are small and I had my operation to remove my right kidney in August by keyhole surgery at the Royal Hallamshire Sheffield.
made a good recovery will be going on pazopanib in the next few days.I also go to Westen Park.
