Too young for lung cancer!

Hi all

I had a bilateral mastectomy back in 2007 for dcis with huge family history of breast cancer. I have had issues with kidney stones for the last 3 years. A year ago at a routine ct scan of my kidneys they caught the bottom of my lung and found an abnormality, they said it was prob nothing but they would keep an eye. I had another couple of scans and the blobs haddnt changed. Yesterday I had a full scan (kidneys and lungs) the lady said that the stones are back but the thing that concerned her most is that their have been definite changes in the blobs on my lung (they didn't call them blobs btw) they want me in for a biopsy ASAP. I'm so scared! I'm only 35, I have three children the youngest being only 3.

I gave up smoking 10 years ago but have relapsed a couple of times after a drink.

I just feel like I'm in free fall. I'm waiting for an appointment with the lung doctor. I try and stay positive but if did that with the breast cancer and had the worse news!

Just keep thinking how will my baby girl cope

Can't eat can't sleep basically going mad

  • Hi Pampas07,

I am so sorry to hear of all this news you have just been given about the" blobs" on your lung. I am not surprised that you are worried and cannot sleep and feel you are going mad. The waiting game with any worrysome problem is always the worst. Whether you are waiting for appointments, xrays scans etc or results its all just awful.

Well done for giving up smoking all those years ago. I thought I was doing well after 18months of giving up, but 10 years is magnificent. I do hope you've got someone to support you emotionally whilst you go through this, and someone to help you with your children.

Do come back and tell us how things are going on for you, and also come and offload anytime,  we are here to listen and help if you want.

    best wishes

    Annabel.

  • Thanks Annabel

I had a VATS wedge biopsy on Monday 28th now I'm resting up awaiting the results.

I think it will be bad to be honest by the way the surgeon was.

Just tired of all the bloody worry, up and down like a yo yo.

    Thanks for your message xxx

  • Hi,

Please can you share you experience of the wedge biopsy?

I hope you are currently well

    thanks!
