  • Hi Bodger, glad to hear you have your treatment plan now.  I am sure the hospital will monitor you very closely being a diabetic so please dont worry.  I am sure they would not endanger your life and will keep a good eye on you.   Have a good weekend.   Max x

BEEN A NICE MORNING HERE IN CHESHIRE BUT GETTING BLACK CLOUDS NOW BUT NO RAIN AS SUCH .YET TAKE CARE ALL .GEORGE

  • Hi Mal,

That all sounds pretty familiar. I popped into Warrington General for my blood tests on Wednesday and started my second round of chemo at Halton (one of Clatterbridge's satellite clinics) on Thursday. The chemo nurse didn't have details of my blood results - just that the conclusion was that I as OK for chemo. The only minor problem was that I'd left my Kindle and reading glasses at home. There was a bit of a wait and three hours of infusions can seem a long time! Luckily my son had his in the car, so I borrowed that and increased the font size!

I was seeing the GP on Friday anyway so I got her to pull up my blood results on screen during the consultation. Pleased to say that everything was in the normal range, as I was a bit worried that a cold I'd had over the weekend might have weakened my immune system.

The only side effects I'm having is a bit of nausea and some cold sensitivity due to the Oxaliplatin - so I avoided going out in the frosty air this morning (good excuse for breakfast in bed and a lie in).

Hope all goes well for you on the 18th.

    Cheers

    Dave

  • See that your in cheshire George and that Dave is just up the road from you in warrington
Me well I'm down in Shrewsbury  so thats about 40 mile up the road from me,
I have a forum friend on carers uk in cheshire that breeds budgies nice lady
always seems busy and up early .
They tell me that it is a 3 hour session on the 18th and that I will be able to drive home
as the Oh has an app at the docs at 3pm and she is disabled as I have told the doc's
so they are going to try to give me my chemo at reasonable times Hopefully
Dave you say you felt cold I feel the cold now being diabetic in my feet so put the hint out
