Hiya, she lives in Bedfordshire. She was told it was an abscess & given antibiotics twice... She has had a CAT & PET scan. They say the tumor has "tentacles" and is heading toward her brain... She needs chemo for 5 days on 2 weeks off 3 times then chemoradiotheraphy for 6 weeks. They are talking about keeping her in hospital for that as it will be so bad... Is that what you had? We are concerned regarding the long term effect on her hearing and possibly sight and her face. It just sounds so awful.... You sound good - it's great to hear. 

Mine was a diiferent treatment of 38 radiot and 4 x chemo. Chemo was great - methotrexate - as I put on 3 1/2 stone but   LOST 4 by the end of treatment. I was only in hospital for biopsy and first night after chemo and never again. Treatment was changing when I was ill in 95 and higher success rate now. I had a 20% chance of living for FIVE years as tumour usually returns if not destroyed. I was lucky.

Hi Ron I too had Nasalpharangeal Cancer in 2006 had Nasal Nodes and Uvaler removed, lasered my soft pallet 3 times and had 6 & 1/2 weeks of radical radiiotherapy and chemo If you would like to chat please do get in touch Sue

Hey I haven’t been diagnosed with  nasopharyngeal but I have been to see ENT because the hearing in my right ear has got much worse. The hearing test showed significant loss in my right ear. I also have blocked/stuffy nose that never goes away, vision is more blurred and can get headaches. I know this can be some of the symptoms of NPC. I also keep getting weird smells in my nose like I can smell smoke (me and my husband don’t smoke) it was so bad the right night I had to come downstairs to check nothing was burning. I don’t have any lumps in my neck as far as I’m aware, did you have any of the symptoms I’ve posted above? I’m awaiting an MRI scan x
