I had radiotherapy and chemo therapy for a cancer at the base of my tongue back in Feb 2011, and lost hair from the affected area which has still not grown back. The radiotherapy was focused at the base of my tongue, so it covered my neck and throat, and this is where I've lost the hair. The main hair on the top of my head remained, as did my beard. The incredible thing though is that my beard used to be almost white - it's now growing thick and brown (my natural colour) !
