Recall worries

  1. I've been recalled after my mammogram, I was actually at the breast clinic sept 26 as I had a rash, my breast has been itching on and off since so I'm thinking there may be a change just due to the itching
  2. I have a family history of hormonal cancer, mum had ovarian and brother has had prostate cancer, if the scan is clear is it easy to get screened for genetic possibilities of cancer both happened at the age I am now

  • Hi Lorrie- I’m afraid I’m not a medic so can’t answer your question about genetic screening but in terms of the mammogram recall I was also recalled following a routine mammogram.  Mine turned out to be a spot/pimple on the outside of my breast which was the ‘change’ from my previous mammogram 3 years earlier,  I’m assuming that if you have a rash (which usually comprises of a lot of very small tiny skin abrasions/spots) this could also be a reason for your recall?   Only the medics will be able to confirm the definitive reason for your recall but I was surprised that it was something on the skin outside of my breast that caused my recall.  Perhaps this may also be the case for you.  Here’s wishing you the best outcome. Take care xx
