Melanoma T3 N2 - cancer and lymph nodes removed, latest scan all clear. Not sure whether to go ahead with the injections. What should I do?

I had a small piece of melanoma skin cancer removed with 3 under arm lymph nodes  

2 off the nodes showed some cancer   Had a ct scan two weeks ago showed all clear 

I was at the cancer centre yesterday they want to give me the injection every 6weeks 

I am very physically fit and have no other ailments  and don’t take any type of medicines 

the doctor and the nurse explained all the side effects that could happen ,

 I was dumbstruck to put it lightly  just now I am undecided wether to go ahead with the treatment 

anyone give some advice please  I am 71 yrs old

    It's great to hear that your latest scan showed you have the all clear although I'm sorry you're having trouble deciding whether to have the injection or not.

    Most treatments come with a risk of side effects but just remember that everyone is different and you may find that you are one of the lucky ones that have little to no side effects. Also, if you do go ahead with the injection and find you're not getting along with it you can stop at any time.

    If it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very understanding and will do all they can to address your worries and concerns.

    Hopefully some of our members who have been in this position will offer their support and advice to you as well.
