Lump found in right breast

Hi all

so I am new on here, just recently I found a lump in my right breast (by accident) I reached over to itch under my arm and felt the lump. 
it’s about an inch away from my armpit, topside of my breast, I think I may have found another one too

I have been to my doctors, the doctor checked me over and just said she was referring me to have it investigated further at the hospital and it was a 2 week referral. 45 minutes later I got a phone call with an appointment for in a weeks time. 

I know people say not to think the worst and I’m doing my best not too, but there is a part of me that is worried sick. I’m trying to keep my mind off it with work and wedding planning (me and my partner at getting married in August next year)

    A very warm welcome to the forum.

    I am sorry to hear that you find yourself in this position. This is always a worrying wait, so I am glad to hear that you only have a week to wait before your appointment at the breast clinic. It is just as well that you have your wedding to plan for and hopefully this can divert your thoughts to this at times, instead of your forthcoming appointment. Not all breast lumps are cancerous and it is a fact that only 20% of those who attend the breast clinic, will receive a cancer diagnosis.

    It sounds as if you are doing the right thing by keeping yourself busy in the meantime, although it is hard not to let our over-active imaginations take us to some dark places at times. Try to avoid consulting "Dr Google", as much of the information is poorly researched, out of date and aimed at the more spectacular cases. This won't give you any answers and will only serve to scare you further. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
