I am about to have a lumpectomy also a reduction on the healthy breast anyone else had this and do they recommend it I'm 73. Also I will be having an injection a week before I've been told by someone that it's painful any thoughts please
A very warm welcome to the forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and 1 of pre-cancer, all within the first year after diagnosis. I had a lumpectomy for the first and a double mastectomy for the second bout. I was 70 when first diagnosed and had a number of other co-morbidities. I was terrified at the thought of going through surgery, but it was all very straightforward. I was a little tender for a few days after the operations, but I was given painkillers to combat this and I healed quickly.
