I have been experiencing mixed bowel habits for 4-6 weeks on and off. Going 1-2 times per day at regular times. I have had a busy few weeks with work, moving house and travelling etc so put it down to general stress. Been to the doctors and faecal calprotectin result was 1667 which points to severe inflammation. My enterics test showed no sign of infection. I am not experiencing any other symptoms apart from occasional tesenmus and there was one instance of blood 5 weeks ago. No pain at all apart from cramps lower right abdomen which I would score a 1 out of 10 on the discomfort or pain scale. Has anyone been in a similar situation. 

Despite lab comment stating urgent referral required. Doctor has told me to test again in in a month after a bland to clean diet with no coffee, alcohol, spices etc. My diet is generally good. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? I have to be patient but my anxiety is driving me insane. I just want answers. My sister has Crohns and she said my symptoms point to that. However, I am petrified it may be bowel / colon cancer. I suffer from bad health anxiety due to losing both parents at a young age to cancer and have had counselling for it numerous times over the years. Thanks
