Denisemc - my situation and nivolumab

  • Hi I had breast cancer in 2022 after two opperations
  • Chemotherapy then Radiotherapy I'm all clear.elsee
  • My cancer has returned as malignant melanoma 
  • this year in my shin I've had surgery to remove it a skincraft and two nodes taken from my groin to my dismay they tested with cancer.
  • In September I'm going on nivolumab but the side affects
  • look awful has any else gone on this injection and did they get on thankyou

    Hi Denisemc,

    I'm sorry to hear you are now facing melanoma treatment, especially after having had breast cancer. 

    I don't have personal experience of side effects from nivo (I was diagnosed long before it was available to Stage 3 patients). However, I do know many melanoma patients who are on the drug & their experiences all differ - some have no side effects, some have mild ones whilst a minority have more serious ones. 

    I have sent you a friiend request - if you accept it we can chat by private message and I can share more information. Is your team also considering surgical removal of the remaining groin nodes too?
