Back again after 16 years

Hi all,

2010 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, had double mx and radiotherapy. All was well but now I’m back with carcinosarcoma of the uterus. Had hysterectomy 7 wks ago, seeing oncologist next Wednesday to sort out chemo regimen. Just wanted to say hi and see how everyone is coping and hopefully read some uplifting stories of your own treatments and lives. x

  • Hello Dippydi, and welcome back to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with cancer for a second time. This must have been very difficult news to receive but I'm glad your surgery has gone well and I'm wishing you all the best with your oncology appointment on Wednesday.

If you have any questions or concerns you'd like to discuss further either before or after this appointment, you can give one of our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. The phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to help.

Hopefully some of our members will stop by soon for a chat, but in the meantime we're sending you all our support and wishing you all the best with your chemo.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Thankyou Steph.

i am interested in seeing if anyone else has been diagnosed with carcinomasarcoma of the uterus after having breast cancer.Im BRCA 1 and my consultant this time around asked me why I only had oophorectomy after bc diagnosis and not a hysterectomy? I told him I was not offered a hysterectomy to which he replied, there is evidence that having BRCA 1 gene is linked to developing uterine carcinomas and going forward he believes that women who develop bc and test positive for the gene should now be offered full hysterectomy. If I’d known this all those years ago I would definitely have had hysterectomy
