I am sorry to hear that you've had these symptoms, but glad to hear that you have followed up on them. You won't be wasting anyone' time - we are always advised to get any changes in our breasts investigated. Did your GP explain that many people have naturally lumpy breasts and others have benign cysts or Fibroadenoma? It is a fact that only 20% of those who attend the breast clinic will get a cancer diagnosis. It is also unusual for someone of your age to have cancer, although sadly, there are exceptions to every rule.

You will usually get a referral for the breast clinic within 2 weeks from the date that your referral is received, although the actual appointment may take a little longer in some busy clinics. All of the tests at the moment, will be quite overwhelming, especially when there are so many unknowns. Most people will have a chat with the consultant, a physical examination, a mammogram, an ultrasound and a biopsy. They don't always carry out a mammogram of someone your age, because younger breasts tend to be denser and the images are not as clear as they are with an older person. The ultrasound and mammogram show up any changes under the surface and the biopsy determines whether there is any cancer present or not. It can take about 2 weeks to get the results of a biopsy and this is always an anxious wait.

thank you so much for your quick response I really appreciate the time you took out to reply, the doctors are really good at my new surgery where I’ve moved to and have booked me lots of different test for things very quickly, an ECG soon , bloods soon, another appointment Thursday to discuss a lack of periods for 6 months, and yeh hopefully I’ll be notified about the referral this week I hope Iv been told to chase it on Friday this week with the doctors just incase. But Yh Iv been advised of a two week appointment wait. 

I know I thought I’d be too young to even be thinking that way too, but yes sadly there have been cases of people my age with it rare but definitely has occurred below the normal age range from what I’ve read online.

Ive got a really supportive online community who I’m sharing my updates with along the way because I didn’t want to feel alone as such with the weight of it all. 

so yeah I’m just like you say trying to keep positive and do normal daily things until I know more.

It sounds as if you are doing all the right things. It can be hard to remain positive, but that makes all the difference with the wait and with managing any treatment that might be necessary. Keep yourself busy - whether with work or enjoyment. It is good to hear that you have a really supportive community around you - it does help to be able to unburden yourself and to talk to others.

It sounds as if your GPs are really "on the ball", which must be reassuring and I hope that they can find the reason for your lack of periods for so long.

Here's hoping that nothing untoward is found. I'm hoping and praying that all goes well for you.
