Waiting for biopsy results

I recently had a recall. A week of stress and then the appt where they told me straight away I was having a biopsy. I was too in shock to ask why and in tears. Honestly an emotional wreck. Anyway I had a physical exam, followed by a contrast mammogram that was a weird sensation followed by ultrasound and then a biopsy. Ultrasound found nothing no lesions she said no asymatary  so that was good. I’m still in shock awaiting results for calcification cluster. Anyone been in the same position? Already wrote myself off in my head which is ridiculous I know.

  • Heya.

All you can do is to wait. We are all here for you. Never do give up on yourself however. Keep us updated. There are lots of helpful resources which are freely available online. MacMillan have a huge number of advice booklets in addition that is always worth a read. Take a look at some. Best wishes. Ask the dietitians about healthy eating and hydration as well. Also do helpful exercise.

Light intensity exercise is the best option. Welcome to the forums. Walking to the car from the hospital entrance counts as light exercise. Ask about extra support at home too. There are loads of care agencies that can help. Country Cousins is an excellent home care provider that do amazing work.

You can do this. Depending on your type of cancer there are a vast range of useful charities which are always willing to help. Give them a call or send them a email. Also take a look at their website. That way you can find out more information. Ask your team about research trials. Maybe you can qualify for one or two.

  • It's an awful thing to go through, I know, but keep in mind that you haven't been told that you have cancer. Of the people who are called in, 4 out of 5 don't have it. Even for those who do, early detection is a life saver. I was the number 5 and I had breast cancer, but it was treated very quickly. I had an amazing surgeon and nurses and I could contact them for anything I needed. Try to distract yourself for now and remember that you were called in because they wanted to check again, not because it's a definite diagnosis. Take care of yourself and I wish you good news soon. • Also there are relaxation videos and so on on YouTube.
