Recently diagnsosed with stage 2 prostate cancer

Hi, I am a 70 year old man. I am fit and active and regularly use a local gym. I was recently diagnosed with stage 2 prostate cancer and opted to have 5 days of radiotherapy as a treatment. My question is this; how confident can I be about my treatment curing the cancer? I would appreciate some thoughts.

    I'm sorry to hear you were recently diagnosed with prostate cancer but I hope all goes well with your radiotherapy when it begins.

    Although we're unable to tell you how successful your treatment will be, you're very welcome to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040. Their helpline will be open again from 9a.m on Tuesday and they will do all they can to answer your questions and give you the reassurance and answers you are seeking at this time.

    Hopefully some of our members who have had radiotherapy for prostate cancer will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice as well.
