Hi All,

I was referred for an urgent scan for suspected gynaecological cancer. My GP ordered the tests as i have had bleeding 12 months apart.

I was under the impression the results went back to my GP to advise me. I had my scan this morning and i asked the lady about the results and she said your GP will have them in the next seven days, and i walked away.

Then Four hours later i have received a phonecall from the hospital to say from my scan this morning i need to be booked in for an appointment to see a gynarcologist which is in two weeks time.

I am now really nervious and feel sick as i thought i was getting my results from my GP. However, i may be wrong and this might be normal protocal.

Can anyone share their experiences with me and advise if this is normal practice even if the results are normal. I don;t understand why i need to see the gynae consultant iunless something is wrong?
