I can't sleep can't eat can't think of anything else constant diarrhoea, please someone give some reassuring words I'm after kindness and positivity please!!!

  • Hi Flojo12,

A very warm welcome to the forum.

You have done the right thing by getting this lump investigated. Unfortunately, the way you are feeling is the same way most of us feel while waiting for an appointment. It is very difficult to cope with the unknown and most of us give in to our over- active imaginations, which take us to all sorts of dark places. Try to keep yourself busy until your appointment - it doesn't matter whether this is with work or leisure. Avoid doing any google searches, until you know the result. Much of the information there is poorly researched, out of date and aimed at the more spectacular cases. This will only scare you rather than reassure you.

Not all lumps are cancerous. Many turn out to be benign cysts or fibroadenoma. It is a fact that of all those attending the breast clinic, only 20% will get a cancer diagnosis, so the odds are still in your favour. I shall be thinking of you on 22nd and I hope that all turns out well for you. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
