Introduction - mum has stage 4 lung cancer. Struggling to be there for her as I have 2 kids and live 3 hours away

Hi all,

my therapist told me this would be a good starting point to pop in and out of needing support.
my mum is very sick and suffering with stage 4 lung cancer that’s now in her thyroid and adrenal glands.

we live 3 hours from here and as much as I try to be there it’s difficult with 2 kids.

that’s all I have to say for now. Thank you for accepting me

A very warm welcome to the forum.

You have come to the right place to get support. Unfortunately, there are many of us here who have been in this unfortunate situation. My own mum had breast cancer for 12 years. It then metastasised to her liver, lungs, brain and bone and it was so hard to watch her and not be able to do anything other than support and be there for her. I had 2 young teenagers at the time, was working full time and was living in a different country - I agree that distance doesn't make visiting easy, but we got through it. Do you have any other relatives who live closer to your mum?
