“Double whammy” - first NHL and now Uveal Melanoma. You have to keep fighting

In 1993 I was diagnosed with NHL.  Over the years I have fought this cancer whenever it returned with the help of amazing doctors.  Last year I was convinced it was back again but, after a CT scan and blood work,  nothing could be detected.  In December 2025 I had what I thought was a cataract, long story short, uveal melanoma and enucleation followed.

You have to keep fighting and to remember that you know your body better than anyone else and there are still people worse off than you.  Keep safe people x

  • Hey Standring,

I hope you don't mind me stopping by but I noticed you hadn't heard back from anyone just yet, so I wanted to reassure you that your post has been seen and to offer you a very warm welcome to the forum.

Your positive attitude and words are really inspiring as I'm sure our members, many of whom have had various on-going battles with cancer just like yourself, will agree and hopefully some of them will stop by soon for a chat.

I hope your recovery from your enucleation has been going well but if you have any questions or concerns, our team of cancer nurses are available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to help.

You keep safe as well Standring, and remember that we're always be here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
