Result of boyfriend's colonoscopy - been told a shadow has been detected. What does this mean?

As some of you may remember I posted that my boyfriend was going for a colonoscopy on the 31st of this month, which ofcourse is today. They've told him that a shadow has been detected, but haven't explained anything else. My boyfriend and I are both blind, and don't quite know what this means. He has to go for another scan. Could someone enlighten us as to what this might mean?A

  • I'm sorry to hear about the shadow that was found during your boyfriend's colonoscopy VillainousVal.

This must be a very stressful time for you both, especially with no further information or explanation being given to you at this time, but if you would like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday (except bank holidays) between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to answer your questions and support you until you know more.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will share their experiences and advice with you soon but in the meantime, our thoughts are with you and we're wishing your boyfriend all the best with his upcoming scan. We'll have our fingers crossed this shadow is no cause for concern.

    Kind regards,
