New member diagnosed with NSC lung cancer

Recently had a series of chest infections and was referred for a chest X-ray that picked up the mass in the right middle lung. It was the hospital team who acted quickly and I had a CT scan and PET scan all confirming the tumour

In February when the consultant shared the results and that they had also seen a mass in my breast that knocked me so hard how ever I had 2 biopsies one on my breast which was not cancer and one for my lung which further confirmed cancer in my lung and a plan to remove it. It’s been really difficult to process however I have been lucky to have been given appointments quite promptly to have the middle lobe removed.

  • Just had the results from my surgery and will be referred to an oncologist for both chemotherapy and radiation… feeling very low and worried about impact on my other health issues.

Also trying to be positive that this will enable me to beat this .

  • I'm sorry to hear further treatment is needed Memedel.

It's completely understandable, and natural, to be feeling low after finding this out so do be kind to yourself at this time and as you've mentioned, this will help you in the long run so try to keep that in mind when your worries start to take over.

We have some information about chemotherapy and radiation for lung cancer on our website but our team of cancer nurses will be available tomorrow for a chat if you'd like to discuss this further and get some more support.

    Kind regards,
