Hi SheilaAnn,
I am so sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer while you are still having treatment for essential thrombocythaemia - poor you having to manage both conditions. It must have been a real shock for you especially if you didn't have many symptoms.
I hope that the treatment is going ok - as you say it is a lot for your body to take but I hope that the treatment will be effective. If you have any questions or wanted to talk things through at any point with our cancer nurses, they are only a phone call away and it is completely free to ring their helpline Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm on this free number 0808 800 4040.
Other members of our community may currently find themselves in a similar place to you going through treatment for stage 4 ovarian cancer and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their story with you. It helps sometimes to talk to others who are in a similar boat and perhaps you will also hear from others on here who have the combined experienced of having ET and another cancer and it could be interesting to hear from their perspective too.
Wishing you the best of luck for your treatment - you've been through an awful lot and I can imagine that the chemotherapy and the recovery from the surgery haven't always been a walk in the park but I hope that the treatment will be a success.
We are always here for you if you need to talk or offload at any time of the day or night.
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
