New member - diagnosed with vaginal cancer 9 months ago

Hi im new to the group ,I was diagnosed  with vaginal cancer last year, in the 9 months its been a hard journey, I wondered if there was anyone in the group with the same diagnosis

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Caslass although I'm sorry to hear how difficult things have been for you since you were diagnosed with vaginal cancer 9 months ago.

I know you're hoping to connect with others with the same diagnosis so I've had a quick look through the forum and found a couple of members who are also on this journey. New member Mayann revealed in a post they made last month that they have stage 1 vaginal cancer. 8 months ago a member called  was trying to find others with vaginal cancer and the lovely  finished their treatment for vaginal cancer a few years ago but are happy to help others who have any questions or concerns.

I hope this helps Caslass but we also have a team of cancer nurses you can talk to on 0808 800 4040. Their helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to support you and help you find ways to connect with even more people with this diagnosis.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

    I finished treatment December 2023

i had 20 sessions of radiotherapy

5 sessions of chemotherapy and 4 sessions of brachytherapy

it was tough and I still feel tired a lot

I also suffered with vulva ulcers which were horrendous 18 months after I finished treatment and they took about 6 months to heal

try to stay positive I know it’s hard but there is a light at the end of the tunnel x
