I have just had a right breast masectomy two weeks ago, and opted for a medical prosthetic to be put in at the time, which can remain in place whilst having my treatment. Then later on after treatment I will have reconstruction. I did it this way because waiting for a reconstruction surgery would have delayed my operation. I feel this was a good decision, as I do now have some shape, even if a bit smaller than my other breast. 

As for bra, I was given a bra from the hospital prior to the operation, and on the day they gave me another one, which works well for washing etc. once all healed I will most likely explore online for post-op bras, I did see some online, even though expensive, I think I will invest for peace of mind. 

From someone who is so impatient, my advice for afterwards is rest up and don't try to do too much after the op. 'Doing nothing is healing'
