I am 73 and have been diagnosed with Stage 3 non small cell lung cancer - chatting to people in a similar situation

I am 73 and have been diagnosed with Stage 3 non small cell lung cancer

i have had chemotherapy and 30 treatments of radiotherapy

I am due to start 12 months Durvalumab immunotherapy

Does anyone have experience of this

i am very scared. I lost my partner in July and whilst I have amazing, supportive friends and family I have too much thinking time.

Not sleeping well and still recovering from chemotherapy

any advice would be much appreciated

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Dee-T although I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with stage 3 non small cell lung cancer.

Hopefully some of our members who have had immunotherapy will share their experiences and advice with you soon, but I hope this information we have about Durvalumab will help to settle your nerves in the meantime.

If it would help to have a chat about this with one of our cancer nurses you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They will do all they can to answer your questions and help you find ways to improve your sleep as well.

It's always scary when trying something new but fingers crossed everything will go to plan and you won't experience too many side effects.

Good luck Dee-T. We'll be thinking of you and sending all our support your way.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
