I have had HPV for over three years now, with it being the cancer causing one. I went for a colposcopy so they could see anything as my smears just showed HPV with no abnormal cells. When i got there the doctor told me he could see abnormal cells and that a biopsy needed doing. smears don't hit all the cervix so after having HPV for three years it was needed to have a deeper look. It has been almost four weeks now and I still haven't heard anything. There are so many different places that say different waiting times and I just want to know now. I feel stuck and cant concentrate on anything until i know one way or the other. The fact he saw abnormal cells make me want to have the LLETZ excision just to have it removed from my body. I feel like whatever is there is growing and I'm feeding it by thinking it there and feeling negative about it. Please can anyone tell me how long their results took, and if the LLETZ got rid of the cells and they no longer have HPV?
