Hi Dycey - 1965,
I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. You will naturally be anxious until you get your biopsy results. You will find that the more you discover about the type and stage of breast cancer you have, the better you will be able to cope with it. It can be difficult to concentrate on anything else at this stage, but try to keep yourself busy. It doesn't matter whether you are preoccupied with work or pleasure - anything to take your mind off your diagnosis is helpful. Stay away from consulting "Dr Google". much of the information is poorly researched, out of date and aimed at the more spectacular cases. This won't give you any answers and will only serve to scare you further. Once you have a complete diagnosis, stick to well respected sites for information. Place your faith in your care team - they deal with cancer day in day out and they really do know what they're doing. If you are unsure about anything, don't be afraid to ask your care team - no question is too insignificant! Try to remain as positive as you can about the outcome, as a positive attitude is a great help in dealing with this disease.
You will probably have more questions once you get your biopsy results. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
