Evening - living with stage 3 pancreatic cancer

I am stage 3 pancreatic cancer , I had the wipple 15 months ago and then 9 months of chemotherapy then 3 months cancer free then told just before Christmas that it’s back xx

  • Hello By-the-sea and a big welcome to Cancer Chat,

How awful to be told just before Christmas that your cancer was back after being 3 months cancer free. I am so sorry to hear that and I wanted to share with you the information we have on our website on pancreatic cancer and specifically on stage 3 pancreatic cancer

I hope that you have recovered well from having the whipple surgery and from the chemotherapy treatment. Have you been informed as to what your next treatment options might be? I can imagine it was a bit of a blow to find out that the cancer is back and I hope that future treatment will go well and that it will be effective.

It might be a time when you are feeling understandably a bit confused and upset that it has come back and you may be asking yourself a lot of questions and wondering what might happen next. If you feel like talking to someone about it and have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with our cancer nurses on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I just wanted you to know you are not alone here living with pancreatic cancer and I hope that you will get to talk to other members of our community who have had a similar diagnosis and treatment for pancreatic cancer in the past.  for example posted just a few days ago and mentioned that like you they had a very difficult Christmas after being diagnosed with cancer just 2 weeks before Christmas. It must have been a really tough Christmas for both of you - have a read of the story of their pancreatic cancer diagnosis and feel free to respond if you wish to do so. This is just one example and there are many more and I hope that you will get to connect with others on here who find themselves in the same boat at the moment. It does help to talk to others who understand what you are going through.

    Best wishes,
