I am sorry to hear you have experienced side effects relating to smell and taste with pirtobrutinib. I could not find any information on our website on this new drug but we do have a page on ibrutinib and if you wanted to talk to our cancer nurses about this drug or find out more about potential side effects, you can get in touch with them on this free number 0808 800 4040 - Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. 

I hope that you will hear from others on here who have taken this drug before and that they will tell you more about the side effects they experienced if they had any. It sounds like you have taken a lot of drugs since being diagnosed nearly 20 years ago and I hope that you are doing ok. What cancer were you diagnosed with if you don't mind me asking?

Hi there I was diagnosed with cll and breast cancer in 2023 Im still awaiting treatment for my breast cancer on letrozole I’ve had lots of different treatments and all started quite well the my blood and platelets started to go down I’ve had pneumonia twice last and really pooley But still hear to tell the tale Im not going anywhere yet and now have been on Pirtobrutinib for five months When I first started it I had a horrendous rash which was all over my body  I was told to stop immediately and was having steroids and steroid cream Then after three weeks I started the treatment again and was feeling really positive and then just before Christmas my consultant was concerned about me as my blood and platelets started to show symptoms the treatment was not working Im having  blood and platelets regularly and still feeling really well under the situation Im in Hopefully this will help with any other people on this treatment kind regards Hope all goes well

yes I started on on Acalabrutinib then added Obinutuzumab that did help improve response then I started in march 24 with venetoclax with Rittuximab January to may no response ibelalisibib rituximab may 2025 - July 2025 no response Then started pirtorutinib  then my platelets were dropped to 18 my neutrophils 0,5 They have around 18 this last week but Tuesday on 13 So had platelets infusion I’ll keep updated on the chat regards
