New to this! Halfway through chemo for breast cancer. What side effects have other people gone through?

Hi, I’m halfway through chemotherapy for breast cancer after a lumpectomy and lymph node surgery in August. I have coped with the chemo with lots of support from oncology nurses and this has helped but would love to hear what side effects people are going through. I also have fibromyalgia and really struggle with the bone marrow injections, with tiredness and pain. I’m 60 years old and suffer with anxiety and not the best reaching out and communicating.

  • Hi Mandapanda,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

How have you coped with the side-effects of chemo? This cannot be easy when coupled with fibromyalgia. As our moderator Jenn, has said. Side-effects vary, depending on what type of chemotherapy is used. While some people suffer side-effects, others sail through without any. There is no telling who will be the lucky ones. I am glad to see that you have overcome your reservations about reaching out and hope that you will continue to do so. Please remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,
