New to this! Halfway through chemo for breast cancer. What side effects have other people gone through?

Hi, I’m halfway through chemotherapy for breast cancer after a lumpectomy and lymph node surgery in August. I have coped with the chemo with lots of support from oncology nurses and this has helped but would love to hear what side effects people are going through. I also have fibromyalgia and really struggle with the bone marrow injections, with tiredness and pain. I’m 60 years old and suffer with anxiety and not the best reaching out and communicating.

  • Hello Mandapanda

I'm sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. I hope that you recovered well after your surgery in August.

It's good to hear that you've been well supported by the oncology nurses. I can imagine that going through chemotherapy whilst managing living with fibromyalgia has presented some struggles at times.

There are many different side effects that can come with different types of chemotherapy and it's important to remember that not everyone encounters the same issues. Hopefully you'll be able to connect with other ladies who have been through treatment soon so that you can share your experiences and tips for coping.

Keep posting here in the Cancer Chat community if it helps to have a safe space to put things down in writing. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
