It must be a real shock to be told you are given 1 year max for metastatic lung cancer but I would say try if you can not to pay too close attention to these statistical estimates which are never really accurate so it's best to take one day at a time and focus on that light at the end of the tunnel. You are still very young to be given such upsetting news and it must be so hard to have to deal with this when you have a family and little ones to look after. 

There is absolutely no harm in seeking second opinions  and I am not sure about what new treatments are available but there is detailed information on our website on treatment for lung cancer. You can also find out more on our website about clinical trials.
