Ruxolitinib

Hello my names Wilma,

I’m new to this forum I just wanted to say hello to you all

I’m a liver transplant survivor 12 years this October Due to having polychemia Jak 2 Vera which has now progressed to Myelofibrosis sadly I can’t have a Stem cell transplant due to me having a full liver transplant back in 2013

I started on my new chemo treatment on the 30th of November called Ruxolitinib are any of you on this particular treatment I’d be interested to know how your getting on and if you’ve had any side effects thank you

  • Hello Wilma2013

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had to start a new treatment following the diagnosis or myelofibrosis and that due to a previous transplant, some of your treatment options are limited. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious about the new chemo treatment and how it might impact you.

We have some information about Ruxolitinib on our website that may be helpful. You can read through posts where other community members have mentioned this particular chemotherapy or myelofibrosis using the forum search function at the top of the page. You might also like to have a look at the Blood Cancer UK website.

If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

I hope that treatment progresses well for you Wilma2013. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
