Recent Diagnosis Histiocytic Sarcoma

Hi, my husband had just been diagnised with HS as I will call it. We are in the UK and wondering of any specislists (names etc) in this field and effective treatments you/loved ones have had or heard of. We are seeing heamatology for the first time in 2 days. Any questions we should ask? HS presented as a lump in thigh. 50 years old. Thank you.

  • Hello Karen-R

I'm sorry to hear that your husband has recently been diagnosed with this rare form of sarcoma. It's understandable that this may be a difficult time for you both and that you'd like to try and gather a smuch information as possible and even connect with others who have experience with this diagnosis.

I've had a look and can see that there are a few historical posts from people asking about this diagnosis. You can find these posts using the forum search funcation at the top of the page and entering "Histiocytic sarcoma" in the box. You should get 3 or 4 search results you can read through.

I'd also suggest giving our team of nurses a call to talk with them. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. You might also find it helpful to have a look at the Sarcoma UK website.

Hopefully your husband's appointment with the haematologist next week will bring some answers and reassurance about the next steps. Do let us know how you get on Karen_R. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
