Just to say hello.

Touch wood, I am not a cancer sufferer but, all too often, I have cared for some who are close to me, who did/do have cancer.

I lost my eldest son in October 2023 to cancer, but Ive also lost my Dad, an Aunty, my brother-in-law and our friend. On a positive a close friend of mine had stage 3 breast cancer fourteen years ago and she beat it off with success! Her attitude was so brave, much braver than I could ever imagine myself being in her circumstances.

Positive outcomes should be talked about-- there is aoways hope.

  • Hello CrisM and welcome to the forum.

I'm so sorry to hear how many of your friends and family you have lost to cancer. I can't begin to imagine what you have been through, especially when you lost your eldest son two years ago to this disease, but I'm glad your friend had a positive outcome and is still with us today.

Like you say, there is always hope and positive outcomes should be discussed more, and if you look through our forum you will come across some of those success stories our members have shared.

Hopefully some of them will introduce themselves to you soon, but in the meantime we're wishing you well and hope you find the forum useful.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
