Finished radiotherapy - everything seems ok so far but I'm worried about developing side effects

I have just had my last radiotherapy and been on letrazole for a couple of weeks. Everything seems to be ok but I'm a bit conscious that I'm going to develop side effects?.

I was her 2 negative lobular breast cancer.

  • Hello Blondemoment

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been through treatment for breast cancer. I hope that things weren't too harsh and that you've recovered well.

It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about the possibility of side effects from letrozole. Many women report side effects of different degrees, but it's important to remember that many women will also have no noticeable or minimal side effects. Some women find that side effects are better depending on a particular brand of medication that suits them best.

If you develop any concerns that you think might be related to the medication, discuss these problems with your GP or specialist. It may be that they can offer support to help mitigate those issues, or potentially change your medication. You can always discuss the risks versus the benefits of taking the hormone treatment.

If it would help to chat things through with one of our nurses, you're most welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you will adjust to this new medication with minimal problems but keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
