Hi all

I was diagnosed with rectal cancer and am due to go in for surgery next week they are going to do lower resection hopefully but due to the cancer being very low down this may not be possible so won't know until they get in if stoma they are fitting will be temp or permanent or if surgery will be keyhole or open so a few worrying variables. I have been trying to keep myself active and busy as recommended continuing to work my 45 hour weeks. However a few days ago I started suffering with bad sciatica and my stomach is so swollen I look pregnant and just feel generally awful. Has anyone else experienced these sort of symptoms or am I just being dramatic thinking it's connected to the cancer.
