It's only been three weeks since your diagnosis so it's completely understandable that you feel you haven't had time to process it all. There are so many different things to suddenly have to think about, the mastectomy and the news that you have to go through chemotherapy first. It really must have felt like you had the rug pulled from under your feet when you received the news that both tests had come back positive. 

The information we have on our website on breast cancer is a good starting point for information and you can also read more about the mastectomy and on chemotherapy for breast cancer.  It's a lot to take in at the moment and all this information can be a bit overwhelming so if you have any questions or want to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, feel free to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - the helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. 

We have a lot of our members on the forum who have had a breast cancer diagnosis, so hopefully you will receive some support and advice from them soon as well. Just to give you a couple of examples, Mary1982 posted a couple of weeks ago about their upcoming mastectomy surgery so she could be a good person for you to connect with. PMcCall also posted this thread on their breast cancer diagnosis and mastectomy  and by now will have been through the mastectomy and chemotherapy so don't hesitate to drop them a line if you would like to do so. These are just a couple of examples and I hope you will get the insights of many other members of our community who have been through this before and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.
