I am Rona, I am 63 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung cancer in September 2022 and my prognosis was 3-6 months. I had 4 rounds carboplatin and pemetrexed and then a further almost 12 months of pemetrexed maintenance therapy. My cancer has been reduced so much that on my last 3 scans they cannot actually see any cancer, but that doesn't mean it isn't there, it's just gone dormant and long may that continue. During this extremely difficult time, our son died suddenly in an accident and a couple of weeks ago, my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 Oesophageal cancer, yet to find out what treatment , if any is available to him or his actual prognosis as, waiting for a pet scan and then the results..I am worried about my husband and how his diagnosis is going to impact my cancer and my ability to care for him, as I have been battling depression and anxiety for the last 35 years. Any support or advice, very gratefully received.
