Breast cancer reassurance

I have stage 4 matastasis bc to the spine for the last 5 years.

After having bc for first time in left breast in 2015. Lumpectomy plus 3 weeks radiotheraphy. Followed by Tamoxifen.

Then in 2018 bc came back in other breast lumpectomy, lymp node involvement, all lymp nodes removed .

Chemotherapy 6 months, followed by 3 weeks radio therapy.

2020 accidental finding after chest x ray for chest infection. Finding tumor matastasis to T4 in spine and sternum. Treatment Ribociclib tablets and fulvestrant injections. For 2 years now just on fulvestrant injections for past 3 years.

Found a new lump in breast and orange peel like puckering, last week. Seen a surgeon and he has refered me for ultra sound and mammogram.

Next week. At this point unsure if cancer has returned till results if new test. Wondering has this happend to anyone else. Plus would there be treatment options.

I'm very worried at the moment.

Thanks for reading any any advice.

  • Hello Stayingstrong

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found a new lump and some changes in your breast health. It's understandable after all that you've been through that you're feeling very anxious ahead of next week's scans.

As I'm sure you know this period of waiting for tests and results can leave you feeling anxious, and it's natural to have questions about what if , but hopefully the team will be in a better position next week to give you some answers and reassurance about the next steps.

I wonder if you might find it helpful to have a chat with one of our nurses in the meantime. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Stayingstrong and let us know how you get on. We're here for you.

    Sending my best wishes,
