Hopeful that the six R-CHOP sessions have done their job with the eradication of my Non Hodgkin Lymphoma.
if this is the case, how long should it take me to get back on my bike and get back to fitness.

Hey Bobet,
I noticed you haven't had a reply to your post just yet so I hope you don't mind me stopping by to welcome you to the forum and to also congratulate you on finishing your chemo. I and the rest of the Cancer Chat community will have our fingers crossed it has been successful in treating your cancer.
Everyone is different when it comes to recovery Bobet so it's difficult to say how long it will take to get your fitness back as it may depend on what side effects, if any, you experience.
One common side effect of chemo can be fatigue. If you notice yourself becoming more tired than usual then I hope this information we have about managing fatigue will help.
Hopefully some of our members will share their stories and advice with you soon but if you'd like to discuss any of this further with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. With their knowledge and insight they will do all they can to answer your questions and support you during your recovery.
Kind regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
Hi Bobet ,
Did you have bulky mass with your non-hodkins Lymphoma?
Hi Bobet,
I had non-hodkins Lymphoma with a bulky mass (the size of a football) in my stomach.
I had 6 rounds of R-chop chemotherapy. You should be having a PET scan in about 3 weeks. Fingers crossed you are are in remission.
I had my final chemo in Oct 23, then thankfully my PET scan on 01/11/23 showed I was in remission.
I was fit and used to go the gym twice a week for 26 years prior to my illness.
Unfortunately I still suffer fatigue, but everyone is different.
All I can say is eat the best you can and rest if you need to
I hope you have applied and got PIP.
This helps with finances. I have had to go temp part time due to fatigue.
Be kind to yourself, you been through the worst.
Let me know the outcome of you PET scan, I hope it's all clear.
Regards

What’s a PIP, I’ retired so might not apply. Thanks for the insight, I cycled at pace 30 miles 5 days a week and went to the gym often also. Not been able to do anything since treatment started mid July.
thanks again for your insight.
Hi Bobeta,
Sorry if that's not the news you hoping for (about your fitness).Everyone is different. You just have to listen to your body. It is very infuriating when you been very fit all your life and then that horrible achey stiff feeling when you get out of bed.
If you over state pension age, if you cannot claim PIP (personnel independent payment). Then look into getting Attendance Allowance. There is info on the Macmillan website or go to Gov.uk..
Don't be proud it can pay for a cleaner or Gardener.
.°Because I get PIP, I get a reduction on my car tax. You can also get a disabled badge which will help pay for parking - appointments for hospital, etc.
I have PIP for 3 years, it's took the pressure off financially, I live alone and I have mortgage to pay.
When I was told I had cancer I thought I was going to lose my house.
At the hospital you were treated there should a person who deals with all benefits, try and find out who it is and make contact, they can help you with the forms.
Concentrate on eating well, lots of rest. Exercise-small steps.
At least you should have no more horrendous chemo!!
Stay positive, if you need any advise just ask.
I hope the above is useful.

Thank you again for sharing.
Best Wishes to you…
