My journey with Oropharyngeal Cancer

Hi,

My name is Paul and I was diagnosed with Oropharyngeal Cancer almost exactly 12 months ago. I've since been through R&C treatment, started to recover, became seriously ill and wracked with 24/7 pain, given up hope and started to make funeral and other plans, had more tests and eventually an an all clear following a biopsy. Whilst there are more tests. etc. to come and I have many residual issues to deal with, I am now on a road to recovery, at least for now.

I like others have been posting a regular Vlog via Youtube pretty much from day 1 (link below), which charts the different stages of the journey, very much from a warts and all perspective (be prepared!). Happy for anyone to view it.

Also happy to chat with anyone to share experiences, answer questions etc.

  • Hi Paul,

I just came across your post and wanted to thank you for taking the time to tell us all that you have been through. It's clearly been very tough for you over the last 12 months but I'm so glad you have now been given the all clear and can start moving forward on your journey.

I'm sure other members on the forum who have received this diagnosis will really appreciate your insight and advice, and that they will reach out to you if they have any further questions or concerns about what may lie ahead.

In the meantime, I'm sending you all my support Paul and wishing you continued strength and success with your recovery.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
