Sebaceous cell carcinoma, I’ve only just found out 2 weeks ago

I’ve been treated for a year for bletharitis in my right eye, with various, drops, ointment etc., but it just wasn’t getting better, then I developed small yellow blobs near my eyelashes which were extremely sore when blinking or closing my eye.  Then I ended up having a biopsy done and when I received the results from that I was told I had sebaceous cell carcinoma, which I was very shocked to say the least, then shortly I’m going for another biopsy but on a bigger scale and after that I’ve no idea.

  • Hello Sar0na

I'm sorry to hear that after all the other treatments you've had this year, you've now finally been diagnosed with sebaceous cell carcinoma. It's totally understandable that you were shocked.

We know that for many people, this period immediately following diagnosis, when more tests are needed and a treatment plan hasn't yet been discussed, can be very difficult. It's natural that you will have a lot of questions and perhaps feel overwhelmed by things at times.

We have some information on our website about sebaceous cell carcinoma, which may be of help. I wonder if you might also find it helpful to talk things through with one of our nurses ahead of your next appointment. I know they will be happy to offer any advice, information and support they can, as well as help you think about questions that you might want to ask. If you'd like to talk with them, they're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that the specialists are able to give you some answers and reassurance soon Sar0na. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
