New to site

Morning all. New to this site and not sure what I’m looking for. I have Stage IV Kidney cancer (diagnosed March 2024) and currently on an immunotherapy course of treatment . In addition I have Addisons Disease, Thyroid problems, and pains in my feet, legs, hands, shoulder and neck. I’m not whinging I promise as there are others far worse off than me, and I’m lucky to have a very supportive wife and children, but would like to chat to others in a similar position as sometimes I do feel sorry for myself and that’s wrong.

  • Oh, I also have Diabetes, but this seems a low problem to mention

  • Hi Steve

You have every right to whinge if you want to and it does not make your life any better knowing that there may be others even worse off. Cancer and its symptoms which usually include pain of some sort are a pita. I too am receiving immunotherapy which gives me fatigue although I dont have addisons disease I have low cortisol levels. I too have a supportive family and my life is pretty good if not a bit limited in what I can do compared to pre cancer days. But I accept this and do whatever I am currently able to. We are lucky to live in an age where there are medicines and advanced surgery to slow down the advance of cancer giving us precious time to enjoy the company of our loved ones and generally appreciate life.

  • Cheers Ed, and agree with all you say. As I said just wanted somewhere to “dump” any negative thoughts I get as I don’t think it’s right to whinge at my supportive family. Good to see you are being upbeat and hope things continue to go well for you.
