Hello everyone! I am a 72 year old male and have just found out that i have Oesophageal cancer.

I have not started treatment yet until i see a consultant this thursday who will describe the treatments available for me.

What i would like to know is being a single male will i be able to go into an hospice 'which i would prefer' to spend my final hours or will i have

to rely on the good will of relatives?

Dont hang up the towell just yet CJ. Modern treatments can give you years more life to enjoy. If the need arises you could indeed arrange in advance palliative care in a hospice via your healthcare team. Wishing you the best
