Introducing JT48: starting chemotherapy treatment and looking for advice on shampoo

I am Joyce.

I have recently began a 6 month treatment cycle of chemotherapy for metastised cancer in various lymph nodes arising from a previous cancer.

|It is early days and I am coping OK so far.

The one thing I am looking for advice on is shampoo!!  I am doing the cold capping and need a additive free product.  Can anyone recommend please?

With thanks

Joyce

  • Hello Joyce and a warm welcome to our community,

I just wanted to wish you the best of luck for your chemotherapy treatment. I hope that it all continues to go ok with minimal side effects. I thought you might be interested to read our information on hair loss, hair thinning and cancer drugs which mentions the cold cap (scalp cooling) and I would suggest you also have a look at this other page we have on hair loss and thinning due to cancer treatment which also goes into some detail about scalp cooling.

Finding the right shampoo is indeed important and I wanted to let you know about our Cancer Care collection which includes a specially selected range of skin, body and hair and scalp care formulated with natural ingredients to support you during chemotherapy.

Many members of our community have been in your position of having to think about what shampoo is best while doing the cold capping and it is not always an easy choice to have to make. I will let them come forward and share with you what worked best for them and I hope that they will give you some good tips and suggestions.

    Best wishes,
