Newby - WoolyBully

Hello everyone!  My first time on here although I have used information from the Cancer Research UK main web site.

Am here because I was found to have lung cancer, confirmed in April.  I had a risky (so I am told) operation which involved having a right upper lobe removed and also a wedge section performed on my lower right lung too.  I am 73 years old and have a husband suffering from Parkinsonism.  It’s not been an easy time for us but we are getting through it.  I’m still finding little niggles and don’t fully understand whether I am feeling what I should be feeling.  Thank you for reading about me, if you need or would like to know any more, just ask - happy to help.

  • Hello Woolybully

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis and all that you've been through over the past few months. It sounds like it's been a challenging time for you both, and I can understand that you might still be feeling overwhelmed by things. Hopefully you have support from family and friends around you both.

Don't be afraid to talk with your specialist cancer nurse if you have concerns about how you're feeling and the niggles that you've mentioned. Hopefully they will be able to give you some reassurance that your recovery is progressing as they would expect.

If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Sending you both my best wishes,
