Waiting is difficult - had TURBT procedure now waiting for the findings. It could take up to two weeks.

I'm a 76 year old female with a few cormorbidities.

On Friday I had a Turbt procedure under spinal anaesthetic.  Not as difficult as imagined.  Kept in overnight as a precaution because of lung and heart conditions.

Post op I continue to feel much better than anticipated.

As usual it is waiting for findings which is, for me, most difficult to cope with. Could take up to two weeks apparently.

Very limited feedback thus far but radiology was mentioned.  Doing what comes naturally I'm now Googling.

  • Hi Villafont and welcome to the forum.

I'm glad your recovery from the TURBT procedure is going well, although I'm sorry about the anxious wait you now have for your results.

As you've mentioned in your post, waiting for results is very tough. In fact quite a lot of our members would say this is the worst part of the whole process but I hope knowing that you're not going through this alone can offer you some strength, and comfort, at this time.

I hope this guide we have on how to cope with waiting for news will help to steady your nerves whilst you wait, but if it would help to have a chat with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to answer your questions and support you until you know more.

We're thinking of you Villafont and will have our fingers crossed for good news when your results come through.

    All the best,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
