Newly Diagnosed

I was diagnosed on 19 August with Grade 2 Ductal Cancer (No Special Type). I feel very well and quite positive. This feel strange to me, almost as if I should be crying and emotional. I do become emotional when I tell someone about the diagnosis but the tears don’t last. Anyone else felt like this.

  • Hi KittyKay,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis. We all react differently to news like this, although you'll usually find that there are a few common denominators between us all. Grade 2 Ductal is eminently treatable and, now that you've found it, you can fight it - this in itself is a positive! There is no right or wrong way to react and the way you are coping sounds 'par for the course'. You may find that your emotions will change from day to day - again, this is perfectly normal.

Good luck on your cancer journey. Please remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
